Last night in Arizona

Our primary season continues, and here's the latest news from Arizona. Elections were held yesterday, and we're happy to report that farm team members Charlene Fernandez and Victoria Steele won their primaries!

Victoria Steele

We first mentioned Victoria Steele back in July. She's running for State Representative in District 9 in Arizona. She is a counselor, educator, successful business owner, and former television and radio broadcaster. Of Native American and German descent, Victoria developed Native Ways, a treatment program for Native American women struggling with substance abuse issues. In addition to her counseling practice, Victoria is a faculty member at Prescott College and the University of Phoenix. She teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in Counseling, Psychology, Environmental Psychology, and Cultural Diversity.

Victoria is in a competitive district, and will face a Republican this fall. Victoria and the rest of our Arizona candidates need your help for November.

Charlene FernandezCharlene Fernandez is running for State Representative, District 4. Charlene worked as a Congressional Assistant for two United States Congressmen where she has witnessed the inner-workings of many federal agencies and community organizations. In addition, Charlene was as a member of Former Governor Janet Napolitano’s Executive Team in the role of Community Liaison to Yuma and La Paz Counties for the Arizona Department ofEnvironmental Quality Agency. Charlene served on the Yuma Union High School District Governing Board for eight years. With no Republican in the race, Charlene is almost guaranteed a seat in the House. Please donate today so we can help the rest of the farm team members win in November.

Congratulations to all our farm team candidates in Arizona. Victoria and Charlene's victories mean that eight Progressive Majority backed candidates will be on the Arizona ballot in November! Read the full list of endorsed candidates on our website here.

Our candidates across the country need you. Republicans and their shadowy billionaire backed organizations will stop at nothing to elect Tea Party slash and burn candidates this fall. Our trainings and the services we offer progressive candidates make the difference in close elections. But we need YOU to help us support these great (and often under-funded) candidates. The greater your support, the more we can do for our whole farm team to help them win and bring about a more progressive future. Whether it be $5 or $500, please give generously today so we can see great progressives like Victoria and Charlene in their state legislatures in 2013.
