Endorsements galore! Read more about our great candidates

Progressive Majority is working to elect progressive champions to state-level offices around the country. So today we're excited to announce another great group of future leaders -- our latest batch of candidate endorsements for 2012. Here's more about three of them:

John Alvarez John Alvarez is running for State Representative in District 53 of Florida. John is an educator, reading tutor, and Florida Lego Robotics coach. John was born in Miami and is a graduate of the University of Central Florida. As the grandson of a Cuban immigrant, John watched his family struggle from the neighborhoods of Miami to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He experienced first-hand the economic hardships and saw the benefits of hard work. A community leader, he believes in putting the people first. John was recruited into the Progressive Majority Farm Team in July of 2012.

Kathleen Drew Kathleen Drew is running for Secretary of State in the state of Washington. She is the only Democratic woman running for constitutional statewide office this year and if elected, will be the first Democrat elected Secretary of State in Washington since 1960. A long-time resident of Washington, Kathleen has a long record of public service marked by the successful advocacy for issues ranging from ethics to environment. In 1992, Kathleen was elected to the State Senate, becoming the youngest woman ever to hold that office. As a public servant, Kathleen wrote the state's ethics laws for state employees and elected officials and worked with three west coast governors to promote ocean health.

Paul Drucker Paul Drucker is running for State Representative in District 157 of Pennsylvania. In 2008, Paul was elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. As a member of the House, he served on the Aging and Older Adult Services and Judiciary Committees. Prior to his legislative service, Paul served on the Tredyffrin Township Board of Supervisors from 2005 to 2007. In August of 2012, Paul joined the Progressive Majority Team. Paul is challenging Republican incumbent Warren Kampf who unseated Paul back in 2010.
