Lorena Gonzalez, member of Progressive Majority Washington's advisory council, was recently awarded the honorable "Top Lawyers Under Forty" award by the Hispanic National Bar Association. Lorena is one of seven (7) awardees who have gone above and beyond, not only excelling in the lawyer profession but also in their contributions to their community. Lorena is an attorney with Schroeter, Goldmark & Bender and serves on several boards including OneAmerica and the Latina/o Bar Association. As an advisory council member she represents Latino Political Action Committee which she co-chairs.

Kristina Logsdon, Progressive Majority's very own Racial Justice Campaign Coordinator, will receive the Women of Color Empowered Award on May 15th. The Northwest Asian Weekly recognizes the contributions of women of color at a luncheon event 3 times a year. The theme for May's event is "Citizen Activists Making a Difference in the Community". Tickets for the luncheon should be on sale soon. The event will be taking place at Ocean City Restaurant, 609 S Weller Street at 11:30 am on May 15^th.
